Writing good code means being an architect.

We're a global team of web architects who know Ruby on Rails inside out.

Based in Boston with offices in New York City, Minneapolis, and Boulder.

MERCI ET AU REVOIR due to a happy series of mergers and aquisitions, Norbauer Inc has been dissolved and our teams and products are now parts of other organizations.

From 2005-2010, the company served as one of the leading web software architecture and design consulting firms in the world. With offices in Boston, New York, and New Delhi and a team of developers who helped write the code of the most popular and sophisticated open-source web framework (Ruby on Rails), we enjoyed a distinguished reputation in the open-source world and the good fortune to build systems for organizations like Microsoft, AMD, Yale University, and many others.

We thank everyone who helped us build our company over its five fun-filled years of operation. Those years brought us more rewarding challenge and success than we could ever have imagined at the outset.

Recommendations if you’ve come here looking for consulting services, we highly commend you to our partners: Vinsol for software development and MetaLab for interface design.

To the horizon the social network we built, Lovetastic, was acquired by OKCupid in 2010. The ruby-themed apparel shop we built was acquired in by LittleLines in the same year. Our senior developers and project managers are now parts of other teams, most prominently Vinsol.

Our founder Ryan Norbauer is now working on a long-term writing project, which he may or may not decide to publish upon completion. His evolving research and interests can be followed at his online Commonplace Book.
